meeting space
Some corners of a home become anchors. This is one of mine.
My desk sits in a quiet office with good light, a clean surface, and a vase of flowers I change out when I can. Not always extravagant stems — just something fresh. This week, it’s a bundle of sunflowers from the flower market near the house - with the petals plucked out to have them resemble proteas, with long stems that crane gently toward the light.
My work is about helping others reconnect with their voice. Helping leaders find the clearest, most compelling version of what they want to say. My work means working in the background of interviews on TV, headlines in papers, speeches given at conferences. It’s demanding, fast-moving. But this space helps me meet it while still operating from a serene place.
I designed this office to feel like mine. Built for focus. Personal, but not fussy. Everything has its place: the notebooks I reach for again and again, the books I’ve underlined, the moleskins I still use for notes, a mint-scented candle I light most mornings before drafting strategy docs and following up with reporter emails. It’s a space that holds me up, especially when I’m holding up others.
Some days, the desk is full of notes and calls. Other days, it’s just me, a draft, and time to think.
Either way, it’s where the work begins.
